The Ashes Garden Memorial Appeal

The area in the churchyard where ashes are interred is getting full. But we believe it is an essential part of our duty of care to the community that we keep Prestwood’s churchyard open. We have launched an appeal to create a Memorial that is a beautiful, permanent and fitting place for the ashes of our loved ones to be interred now and into the future. We have commissioned Martin Cook to design a stone monument to record the names of those to be interred in the Ashes Garden.
You can find out all about the memorial at http://www.htprestwood.org.uk/ashesgarden or by picking up a leaflet in church. Of course we want our members to contribute to this important, beautiful and permanent memorial. But more importantly we need our church community to be ambassadors in the village, talking about and sharing our leaflets and encouraging the whole community to contribute. We want all the different village groups to be enthusiastic supporters of this project. This is a memorial for the village, not the church. Our hope is that the people of Prestwood will be able to rest in peace in their churchyard long into the future.
