A new volunteering opportunity in our Parish

As part of our commitment to Social Justice, our Family Support Worker is working with Christians Against Poverty (CAP) to support families in our parish in financial difficulty. In the coming months we will explore what this means, as a Church, for us to engage in this ministry. Right now, CAP is supporting families in our village. We are looking to identify Befrienders to work alongside professionals in CAP to support families on their journey out of debt. This volunteer position will involve accompanying a Debt Coach on visits to see clients, identifying possible points of social connection, offering ongoing support and a listening ear, and showing clients the love of the Church. Training and support will be given to you if you feel you would like to explore this role. We need to recruit both male and female Befrienders and, at this time, male befrienders are a higher priority. If you would like to find out more about becoming a CAP Befriender, then please contact Fran at This email address is being protected from spambots.
