For Children
Children's Church

In ChurchWe welcome all children to our church, whether or not they have any knowledge of our faith, and whether or not their parents attend Church.

There are two groups that meet on a Sunday morning:

  • FamAD_7The Creche for babies and toddlers.
  • Children's Church for children up to 10

Childrens Church meets on all Sundays during term time, except when we have a Family Service when the children stay in church
There is a crèche available for toddlers and babies younger than 3. They meet in the Church Cottage, located in the car park. Babies and toddlers can go straight to the crèche on arrival.

AngelsWe use professionally produced material that is relevant to the different age groups, tailoring some concepts to meet the needs of children within the groups.  We are encouraged to find children thinking for themselves and sometimes asking very deep questions.  We aim to help young people discover for themselves that Jesus is very much alive and active in our world today.

CraftThe children start the service with everyone else in church. They go out to the Church Hall, where there is a range of different activities and special projects. They come back into church to join their families for communion, and after that show us what they have been doing that morning.

Children's Activity Days

Our Activity Days at Holy Trinity happen at least twice a year – and always on Easter Eve and around Advent Sunday.

On Easter Eve rather a lot of odd looking corrugated card and an assortment of palm trees, crosses, plants and fabric could have been found in the Lady Chapel. By the time more than 25 GardenBeforeof us had left two hours later it has been transformed from what you see on the left… to what you see on the right… GardenAfter

As well as building our Easter Garden this year, we baked our own Hot Cross Buns, planted cress seeds and made Easter cards.  Then, after we had heard the Easter Story from Deiniol, we got to share our Hot Cross Buns with our parents before they took us home.

On the eve of Advent Sunday we met in the Church Hall to learn all about the Jesse Tree. We learnt how it is the family tree of Jesus, from Creation right through to his Resurrection.  We had great fun making apples, ladders, shepherd’s crooks, angel’s wings and all manner of other symbols for all the prophets and people who are to be found on the tree.  We put the tree together throughout Advent and finally we lit the Jesse Tree on Christmas Eve to show the light of Christ in the lives of all of us and everybody who had helped to put it together and everyone who was able to enjoy it’s beauty.

Dates for the next Activity Days will be posted soon, so do watch this space.
