HTP PCC Away Day follow up

In September the PCC of Holy Trinity, Prestwood had an away-day. We looked at how we want our church to develop and grow. We spent a little time thinking through our identifying 'mission statement', to help us focus our thoughts on who we are and how we present ourselves:

Our worship celebrates Christ’s love for all people.
We find rest in God’s presence. The Holy Spirit empowers our lives.
We enjoy building a loving community.

You will see our new statement on Orders of Service and our public materials.

We also looked at what we might do to refocus our growth on 'Sunday morning' church. Recently all our growth has come from worship, groups and activities like 'Craft and Praise' and 'Woolgatherers' that meet outside of a Sunday morning. In 2025 we will be focussing on the following ideas:

  • Praying for growth—Intentionally praying for growth, with a cycle of weekly prayer topics.
  • Focus Sundays—Intentionally taking a Sunday morning to focus on a group or aspect of church life from during the week.
  • PCC Integration—Making sure PCC members have visited and are connected to our mixed ecology church.
  • Developing  a 'light touch' Friends structure—Helping the community relate to and financially support our many different expressions of church.

Please do seek out and talk to a PCC member for more information.
