The Life and Death of Richard II

We are delighted to welcome Aylesbury's Queen Park Arts Centre's performance of The Life and Death of Richard II in the church on Friday 26th July. Performed by the Arts Centre's theatre group, Unbound, as part of their annual Buckinghamshire Shakespeare Festival, you can look forward to a brand-new production of one of the Bard's most incendiary plays.
King Richard holds the throne of England, but opposition to his rule is mounting. When he banishes Henry Bolingbroke over a dispute with his ally Lord Mowbray, the exiled noble vows to take revenge. Soon he returns to England to raise an army, with his sights set firmly on challenging the divine right of kings… A gripping thriller exploring the politics of leadership, and the nature and abuse of power, Richard II is the play that almost got Shakespeare arrested, when it was used as part of a plot to overthrow Elizabeth I. Performed in the apt surroundings of our beautiful church, it's a performance not to be missed!
Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm performance. Tickets are £10/£8 for under 16s and concessions and are available to book at You can find out more about the performance by visiting We look forward to welcoming you!
