Dick Rivett | HTP

Dick Rivett was admitted to Stoke Mandeville with blood clots on his lungs early week commencing 10th August. At this point there was nothing further and it was believed these were the result of a fall he had following cataract surgery which injured a rib. Following further tests it was discovered that these were as a result of pancreatic cancer, with both primary and secondary cancers detected. His prognosis is terminal, and doctors have indicated a 3-6 month expectancy. He was discharged on 16th August and will be recuperating with his daughter in Dorset as he waits for the clots to dissipate naturally. It is his hope that he will return to Prestwood after this time if he is able to live on his own.
We are sure this will be a shock to us all, as it is to him and he is grateful for all the prayers that will be coming his way over the next weeks and months. He will miss being an active member of our community as much as we will miss him.
We will update you as and when any further information becomes available.
Please hold Dick and his family in your prayers.
