The Prestwood Distribution Centre

The Prestwood Distribution Centre for the Chiltern Foodbank opened in the Annexe behind the Church Hall, in December 2019. We were open each Friday morning between 10am-12pm. Clients with a food voucher, obtained from Referral Partners such as the Citizens Advice Bureau, could collect food boxes to provide themselves and their family with three days worth of food. This was a welcoming space for clients; a space where they were offered a hot drink, as well as a space to chat. We could also signpost clients to other local support agencies and offer prayer.

In March 2021, the Distribution Centre was sadly closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, a robust system was quickly put in place to ensure that clients recieve a food box as and when is needed. An e-voucher system is now in place, and Referral Partners can send a voucher directly to the Chiltern Foodbank in Chesham. Clients will then receive their dried food box within 2 days, delivered by a team from the Rotary Club in Chesham.

How do I receive a dried food box from the Chiltern Foodbank?

We are a Referral Partner for the Chiltern Foodbank here at Holy Trinity, Prestwood. If you, or anyone you know, is in need of food support, please ask them to email Frances on families@htprestwood.org.uk, or phone her on 07934 050468. Frances will have a confidential discussion with each client in order to complete the e-voucher for the Chiltern Foodbank, to ensure you receive a food box suitable for you and your family.

How can I donate to the Chiltern Foodbank?

Clients receive a pre-packed dried food box with 3 days worth of food to create balanced meals. Clients can also request extras such as toiletires, cleaning products and pet food. There are two collection points in Prestwood; one inside the Co-op and one inside Sainsburys. If you are in either store doing your shopping, please consider buying an extra item and putting it into the collection point at the tills. These collection points are emptied weekly and the donations are taken directly to the Chiltern Foodbank in Chesham.

Items currently needed are:
